Wednesday, June 20, 2007 More days going by without blog updates… sorry. Monday was Gabe’s
birthday. He got a ping pong table and
those three have been having ping pong battles this week while I’m at
work. That’s good. Other than that, he likes to play video
games (in between hockey practices). Monica’s been sorting my
beads. We’ve decided to switch
categories. Instead of keeping things
sorted according to medium (pc, Lampwork, gemstone, etc), we’re sorting by
color. Should be interesting. We managed to catch Blackie
(pregnant feral that we feed) and she is currently being fostered by a
wonderful woman in The boys and Cal (the rest of
the feral gang) are scheduled to be fixed July 15th (assuming I
can trap them all the night before). Sunday was Father’s day and I kinda blew it… was down in the basement almost all day, trying
to set up the ping pong table and didn’t end up calling my dad until Saturday was my nephew’s
birthday… blew that one too. Friday was my Anyway, between hauling ping
pong tables across the bay bridge and catching wild animals, I did manage to
make a few pieces of jewelry (see top of screen). I guess I don’t have much else
to discuss… did a focus group last night so I’m kinda
tired at the moment. Oh, discovered what Gabe and
Mike are paying in eBay fees for their findings so decided to sell them on this site
for less than we can sell them
for on eBay. I hope the word gets out. I have a few friends that aren’t
doing as well as I (or they) would like, so they’re on my mind too. Okay, on the whole, things are
good. I hope everyone reading this is
at a somewhat good place in their life. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key
to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. “Albert
Schweitzer” Wow, sorry about the long absence. Let me try to cover some of the basics in catching
up. I just realized what eBay’s fees are for the findings Gabe’s been selling, so I’m going to see how it goes with
listing them here at a lower price. If
I don’t have to pay eBay’s selling fees, then I can keep costs down for Gabe’s customers. Don’t get me wrong, I am not dissing
eBay… I love that site. It’s just that
the findings are so small that to have to pay such big fees doesn’t leave any
profit. It’s different for items that
are more than $1 each. Saturday, Monica went to the SJ tryouts for the U12 team (that's
girls 12 and under, which is her age group). And as we were leaving, one of
the coaches came up and asked if Mon could stay through the next session (the
U14's... the older girls) as they only had one goalie and it's kind of hard
to do tryouts "game style" with only one goalie, so we said
"sure" (thanks Alex and Patrice for being understanding!). What else? Oh, I made a
necklace… it’s up there at the top of the screen. It’s on eBay at the moment. I have some TOTALLY exciting findings I’m getting ready to list…
I’ll try to photo them tomorrow and then get them up. Gabe's bangles are almost sold out again. Here, btw, is a Shark attack

First things first… Got the above-shown items listed
at eBay (just click on one if you want to see a larger
image). Then I got these ones into the
store here… Finally had some time to do some
menu-planning. Yesterday, I made BBQ
pulled chicken sandwiches with onion rings and cole
slaw from scratch. Mmmm. Right now, I just started some enchiladas
for tonight. After I get those in the
oven, I'm anxious to get back to the living room and create some more
jewelry. I keep procrastinating on
necklaces because: A) They take longer (sometimes two days each) and B) They
aren't as easy for my customers to buy because they are usually pricier. I spent about two hours
yesterday fixing the dryer vent (don't ask) and then did massive grocery
shopping and cooking… so I felt fairly "accomplished". I actually made four bracelets, but one of
them didn't "feel right" so I'm re-doing it tonight (gotta follow that intuition!). Gabe had a scrimmage in SF this
morning, but he forgot his new glove… poor thing… he's so excited about
playing with his new gear. Still, he
had 71 shots, so I'm guessing that constitutes a good practice nonetheless. Saw a friend from my past… we
see one another at hockey once in a while.
She's a very cool and nice lady… and her kid is HUGE. Monica's age, yet scrimmaging with the
midgets. Well, I'd better get back to
stirring the ground beef… can't think of anything earth-shattering to say at
the moment… "Once a year, go
someplace you've never been before." TTYL! |
