Quicky quicky quicky

My email box is at 100% capacity, so I'm going to try to reduce it by 10% each day until it's just as fast as can be.

I have things to say, but they will have to wait (behind on LOTS of work)… but they have to do with:

Too much shampoo and Zen

Diet and exercise?

List of accomplishments and things that need improvement

Links to new WR stuff

STILL trying to get my thoughts on mental illness down

Why I delayed my foray into lampworking

Sorry, but if I don't write these things down, I don't remember Jack.

Okay, later!

No updates today…

Instead, I'm flushing my hot water heater… then taking the Highlander in for service… then trying to get the tarp on the roof before the next rains come.

Sorry, will try again tomorrow…

Okay, life is settling down a little. Either that or I just got so overwhelmed with unpleasant tasks that I'm blocking them out. Always a distinct possibility with me.

Had a nice Easter with the family… very low key… no egg hunts (whew!), but we did take some awesome canes we just got from CAT and decorated some blown eggs. I'll show you after I take pix.

Saturday, Mike and I took the kids bowling, then out for ice cream. They thought it was funny that they got ice cream for dinner. Ha!

Last night I worked on a (very rare) custom order. Should be finished with it by tonight and will get a pic. Also want to share pix of Gabe's lampwork beads and a wire-wrap job I did on a piece of Turquoise.

And for those not in TMB, this was a pic I snapped this weekend while taking jewelry photos…

As you can see, some things never change (this is the same two characters but two years ago)…

Oh, here's an earring I made with Karen's help during her visit. (Thanks Karen!) It was a great pair of earrings until I (against my own advice!) wore them without ear corks and LOST ONE!!! Wwwwwwwwwwwaaaa!!!

Did I already show you these, btw? These were my 5th lampworking attempt (and my first try with the graphite paddle…

Mike was going to order Corina's Passing the Flame book from Amazon, but then we found out it was $70 so that's on temporary hold.

Haven't seen Domino in… wow… a month or two?

Leon and Blackie are here every day, though… for breakfast and dinner. Mike asked Blackie when she's going to bring her kitties up… he wants to see them. I never hear them when I go try to find them at the pigeon house. Leon's doing his best to get her pregnant again. Sigh…

Mike's also concerned about Tennie

Mar's being a real pill, actually chasing him down. He lives in constant fear and it's showing.

So… now that I cleared out so much (if not all) of my 2005 stock, there's a lot of new stuff rolling in. I'm kind of forcing myself to use beads that I really love and would rather hoard, but that's not good on so many levels… so it's getting used.

And the only people who should balk at the prices would be people who know nothing about lampwork and/or Bali silver 'cause I'm using a lot of both! If I pay $30 for a set of lampwork beads, use the entire set in a bracelet, and then add a dozen highly decorated sterling beads… that bracelet will NOT be going for under $50… that's just retarded.

However, since I know (from personal experience) that not everyone can pay $60+ for a single bracelet, I will also try to add in some less expensive items.

Friday… yay!

Let's see… oh, here's a picture of Gabe's first torching attempts…

Now that he's mastered the round bead, he wants to make a set of beads and make a bracelet for Monica… but don't tell 'cause it's a secret.

I heard a story on the news about a study that found a 40% decrease in the risk for Alzheimer's for people on Mediterranean diets. Pay attention, Mom! Now send me some recipes!

BTW, speaking of Mom… don't know if you ever actually HEARD Mon's thank you message that she left on your answering machine, but she was EXTREMELY happy with the new cats for her collection. And as for the little gold goalie… I'm guessing that the one she's been wearing around her neck for the past couple weeks was from that bag too. She hardly ever wears jewelry, so I was pleased to see how much she likes the charm.

And still speaking of Monica and her birthday… Linda and Dennis, thanks for the gift… Monica made a thank you card for both you and for Mom way back when you guys sent her the cards… and as things go in my house, they got buried. I think I found them when I was looking for the tax papers, so will send to you both soon. Thanks for always being patient and understanding with me and my … foibles.

I had thought of other things I was going to say in here, but I tend to forgot once I'm actually writing (and my stomach is growling and distracting the heck out of me!).

Today is overcast… we had 3-4 days of really nice weather… sunny, but not hot. MMmmm

Here's a photo I took of prancy boy… er, I mean Sharkie. The cat who never learned to sit like a proper cat.

But look how CUTE he was as a baby!!!

Here's my first attempt at wrapping a non-drilled item…

Mike got FFXI for his Xbox 360. That made him very happy… not that you'd be able to tell by the grumbling you hear if you sit next to him while he's playing, though.

Well, I can't think of any more news at the moment, so … see ya later!

So… why are college text books so expensive? I mean, now we're even talking $100+! Apparently I'm missing something… it's a book… paper… ???

And then I hear about this… Susan Polk, I believe… defending herself in a case of murder against her husband; her defense is self-defense.

Anyway, no matter how much I believed in the supernatural or my own psychic abilities, I'd like to think I'm smart enough to know that this stuff will just NOT wash with the general public. She's telling the court (in her opening statement) about how she's psychic and predicted the terrorist attacks and has been using her telepathic powers for the past several years to thwart terrorist attacks.

And maybe I'm missing something, but if your husband is stabbed 27 times, you can't say "he fell".

I'm SURE I'm missing something, but I will stay tuned.

Okay, gotta give kudos to my brother (although I'd LOVE to post the picture he sent me today… he is such a 'tard, but I can't without his permission… which I'm sure he'll never give me… ha ha ha!)… anyway, unbeknownst to him, he saved me oodles of time wasted in the future.

You see, he was inquiring about a photo-editing software that saves your pix at optimal levels for the internet, yet with awesomely low kilobytes. I told him that Adobe PhotoShop Elements has something that SOUNDS similar, but that I'd never tried it. So… went home and tried it and… holy heck! It's awesome. I no longer will have to save my pix in a myriad of ways for the myriad of places I post them. Whoohoo! Thanks Rick!

Oh, and here's a plug for my baby brother… the actor… CLICK HERE

Alright, I don't have too much else to say at the moment.

Oh, here's something I was telling the group today:

Mon wanted to learn to make jewelry, but not just designing and/or stringing... she wanted to learn the whole shebang.

So I let her select a set of lampwork beads, then watched as she picked Swarks that matched. She laid out her design, then strung it. THEN, I instructed her and she crimped the necklace and then wire-wrapped a pair of earrings... and wire-wrapped a dangle onto the clasp.

Wow, what an ordeal. Heh... but I wouldn't do any of it for her... I made HER do it all, from start to finish.

I'll show you when I have a chance to photo it.

Karen showed me this awesome link. This is a live webcam of an eagle with two eggs under her that are about to hatch.

Eagle Nest

So… did I mention that the other night Monica made a necklace all by herself from start to absolute finish? Including the wire-wrapping and crimping!!!

Pretty neat, huh? :-)

Gabe's got MTG tonight.

We watched the Sharks win (3-1 in the series now!) last night, so not sure what our plans (including dinner) are for tonight.

Tomorrow, Mon's got hockey twice and Gabe has hockey on Sunday.

No other real news… I need to get some new listings up. Would also like to find some torch time this weekend.
